The tallest and fastest growing of the New Zealand tree ferns with magnificent frond dimensions up to 2-6 meters long and alien-like croziers that unfurl from its beautiful black trunk. The Black Mamuku, also known as the 'King' of the tree ferns can grow to 20 meters tall in ideal conditions.
Prefers a frost-free site (becomes more hardy with age),moist, rich soil in semi to full shade.
A very dramatic specimen plant. Allow alot of room when planting. Can be used on the edge of a courtyard (umbrella effect) oreven in a pot.
